Still waiting for you to come back to me
The Pigs of Today are the Hams of Tomorrow offshoot dinner event, Blatchford Manor, Devon.
Commissioned by Vanessa Arelle.
Camera by Manuel Vason.
An invitation to dinner. On a dining table in a manor house on the edge of Dartmoor, I sat in
a bath of milk plucking a pheasant. I was surrounded by glass bottles, bones, hair, feathers,
wine, roses and fruit, as the bloody head of a freshly shot deer lay at the fore of the tableau.
His carcass was served on a platter and guests were invited to feed themselves. I continued
my action for the duration of the meal.
